Khadijah Seay

Khadijah Seay (she/her) is the Senior Associate Director for Curriculum Development. At Civic House, she oversees the Penn Civic Scholars Program and PennCORP, Civic House’s pre-orientation program. She also oversees Civic House’s curriculum, which is centered on the Social Justice Framework, and supervises a Graduate Assistant and undergraduate Curriculum Assistants. She is also a pre-major advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Khadijah is a Black woman educator and facilitator hailing from Cleveland, Ohio. Her research and intellectual ideas percolate at the intersection of psychology and education. With an interest in pedagogical partnerships, she uplifts students’ agency and voice with an emphasis on supporting Black women students’ sense of belonging on campus. Her work is guided by Black feminist and womanist thought and experience. Through her work, she centers care, liberation, honesty, and authenticity.

Khadijah graduated from Bryn Mawr College with an A.B. in Psychology (minor in Child and Family Studies) and an M.Ed in Higher Education (concentration in Student Affairs Leadership) from Temple University. Khadijah is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She has researched and published essays about pedagogical partnerships.
