Hailing from Cleveland, OH, Khadijah Seay (she/her) has been a student in Temple University’s Master of Education in Higher Education Program. There she is concentrating her studies on Student Affairs Leadership with an interest in belonging for marginalized student populations. At Temple, she worked as a graduate assistant in the Office of Student Activities overseeing hundreds on student organizations. |
| Prior to pursuing her master’s degree, Khadijah was the Andrew W. Mellon Post-Baccalaureate Fellow for Student-Faculty Programs at Berea College. There she established a foundation for the Student-Faculty Partnerships Program which centered around three key principles: Respect, Reciprocity, and Shared Responsibility. Through this program, Khadijah engaged student-faculty pairs in dialogue around inclusive teaching practices and the importance of student agency and voice in the learning process. Khadijah has also served as an AmeriCorps member through City Year Philadelphia where she worked directly with K-8 students at a North Philadelphia Public School. In reflecting on her experience during the service-year, she added civic engagement as a part of her conceptualization of a holistic educational experience.
Khadijah graduated from Bryn Mawr College with an A.B. in Psychology in 2016. Among other distinctions, she chaired the committee of the Enid Cook ’31 Center, coordinating programs to promote a diverse intellectual and social environment for students of the African Diaspora. Khadijah, among other responsibilities, will work primarily with the Penn Civic Scholars program, involved in all administrative and educational aspects of the initiative, from admissions to advising students, and facilitating a range of sessions for the program.
